ABA in Indiana At Risk

Our founder Sherry Michael and her team want to bring awareness that the office of FSSA and Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) is working on cutting Reimbursement rates for ABA Providers in the State of Indiana so low that at least 90% will be out of business in a few months.

On August 8th, 2023 OMPP proposed cutting reimbursements rates so low that all 84 providers in the meeting were concerned they would go out of business because the new proposed rates are much lower than what it cost to do business. OMPP does not understand what ABA Providers do.

Indiana Medicaid has just released proposed insurance rates that will take effect in 2024. The proposed rates are dramatically below the current average rate. If the proposed rates take effect, they are likely to result in many families no longer having access to ABA services.

With at least 1 in 59 children diagnosed with autism each year, primarily in the African American, Hispanic, and Indian communities, Indiana needs all the funding and support it can get. Our centers help patients with autism live productive lives as men and women. From Occupational/Speech Therapy to Center-Based, we provide the best services possible.

This is a setback that will defer their progression and leave them at risk. This news has left many parents scared, upset, and uncertain that their children will soon lose services they need. With inflation on the rise and families struggling to make ends meet, the last thing we need is for cuts that will decide the future of patients who are on the spectrum.
