Indianapolis the ‘Most Irish City’ in Indiana

With St. Patrick’s Day right around the corner, everyone is digging up their green shirts and getting their Guiness and corned beef with cabbage ready. But do you ever what the most Irish places in Indiana are? Well, according to a survey conducted by LawnStarter, Indianapolis ranks highest in Indiana as the 55th most Irish city in the nation. Fort Wayne is the second most Irish city in Indiana, and 71st in the country overall.

LawnStarter compared the 200 biggest U.S. cities based on the size of their Irish population and access to Irish restaurants and pubs. They also took into account the number of St. Patrick’s Day and other Irish cultural events and the number of Irish cultural groups and organizations, such as Irish dance schools, cultural centers, and networking associations.

So where is the most Irish city in the U.S.? Not surprising, it’s Boston with Chicago a close second. The least Irish? Laredo, Texas and Hialeah, Fla. The cities with the highest percentage of Irish-Americans are Naperville, Ill., followed by Spokane, Wash. And Pittsburgh, Pa.
