Today, Congressman Dan Burton, who represented Indiana’s 5th District in Congress until 2013, announced his endorsement of Beth Henderson for Congress to represent his former district.
“I support Beth Henderson because she is a strong supporter of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, the Right to Life — and she is a fiscal conservative," said Congressman Dan Burton, Ret. "Beth will work with President Trump and Vice President Pence to solve our Health Care Problems. Beth also supports a Strong National Defense and a Strong American Foreign Policy. She’s nice but she is tough!”
“It’s such an honor to receive Congressman Burton’s endorsement,” said Beth Henderson. “He is the epitome of a public servant, and my goal is to represent the 5th District with the same level of integrity and dedication that Congressman Burton demonstrated throughout his career.”
Congressman Burton was first elected to Congress in 1983, and served on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. A strong conservative, Congressman Burton received numerous awards recognizing his pro-business record from leading groups like the Farm Bureau, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
Today’s announcement is yet another piece of big news from the Henderson campaign, including being named to the NRCC’s Young Guns program yesterday and being endorsed by Forrest and Charlotte Lucas on Friday. Henderson has also been endorsed by U.S. Senator Mike Braun, Indiana Right to Life, State Senator Luke Kenley (Ret.), State Representative Tony Cook, Madison County GOP Chairman Russ Willis, and many other conservative leaders in the district.
Henderson has proudly lived and worked in the fifth district since 1990. Henderson is a successful business owner, registered nurse, healthcare advocate, farmer, job creator and lifelong Republican who understands the needs of Hoosiers.
