Phillip Scott

Dec. 23, 1942 – Dec. 12, 2021

Phillip Scott, 78, Port Charlotte, Fla., formerly of Noblesville, entered the presence of Jesus Dec. 12, 2021.

He was born Dec. 23, 1942 in Lebanon, son of the late Howard P. and Margaret (Trout) Scott.

Mr. Scott grew up in Zionsville and was a 1961 graduate of Zionsville High School. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed with Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company as a Maintenance Supervisor before retiring in 1998.

As an avid golfer, he enjoyed spending time on the golf course. He was also a strong supporter of IU basketball as well as a huge fan of the New York Yankees.  He was a member of the Zionsville American Legion. After moving to Port Charlotte, he and Janet became members of New Day Christian Church. His greatest joy in life was being a Christ follower and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren, Braedon and Taylor.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Janet L. Scott; daughters, Tamala L. (Lisa) Scott and Kimberly D. (Scott) Gossard; son-in-love, Marcus E. Gossard; grandson, Braedon Phillip Gossard; granddaughter, Taylor Elyse Gossard; and his beloved dog, Baxter.

Family and friends are scheduled to gather Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. in Bussell Family Funerals, where the Funeral Service will take place Saturday, Dec. 18 at 10 a.m. Pastor James Bradley of Family Worship in Kokomo, and former Pastor to Phillip and Janet, will be officiating. Bussell Family Funerals is privileged to care for and serve the family.
