Stephen Wayne Clouse

Stephen Wayne Clouse, 80, Lapel, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2021, at Richard Roudebush VA Med Center in Indianapolis following a brief illness.

He was born on Feb. 1, 1941, in Plymouth, Indiana to Charles Wayne Clouse and Mary Jo (Keyser) Clouse.

He attended Plymouth High School. He retired in 2004 from Barrett and Stokley as a Brick Mason. He was a carpenter and brick mason his whole life. He started as an apprentice at the age of 18 and became a brick mason in June of 1959.

Mr. Clouse proudly served his country from 1963-1965 in the United States Army. He was a member of the Lapel American Legion post 212 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie 4323. He loved to fish, golf, and bowl. He bowled on many different bowling leagues. His favorite past time was playing poker. He cherished his family very much, especially is kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Jane Clouse; three children, Michelle (Faust) Trowbridge, Melissa (Clouse) Bannon and Mike Clouse; one brother, Richard (Donna) Clouse; grandchildren, Derek (Amber) Faust, Dylan (Kaley) Faust, Tyler Hobbs, Peyton Bannon and Parker Bannon; and two great-grandsons, Liam Faust and Lincoln Faust. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, stepmother, Fredonna Clouse, one brother, David Clouse, one sister, Sandra Clouse, and one son, Jason Faust.

A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Ind., with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.  Military Rites will be performed by the Lapel American Legion Post 212, assisted by the United States Army.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022 and one hour prior to the funeral service on Friday, at the funeral home.
