Mrs. Thornton graduated from Lakeville High School and later married her high school sweetheart, Harold Thornton, on May 30, 1952. They went on to have four children: Vicky, Mark, Laurie, and Amy.

She took great pride in her home, which was always beautifully decorated inside and out. Her family and friends were delighted to hear her gorgeous voice whenever she sang in church. She was a talented artist and taught ceramics classes in her basement in Mishawaka for decades.

Mrs. Thornton traveled both with her family and on solo excursions through her sorority in her later years. She loved playing cards and games. She enjoyed plays and musicals. Mrs. Thornton cherished doing all of these activities with both family and friends.

Everyone who loved and knew her will miss her kindness, generosity, and sweet nature.
