Spartz Joins Title 42 Amicus Brief

Rep. Victoria Spartz

U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN), along with 52 other Members of Congress and the Texas Public Policy Foundation, filed an amicus brief in support of the Title 42 injunction lawsuit filed by Louisiana, Arizona, and Missouri Attorneys General.

“Border security is a serious national security issue and President Biden cannot play politics with people’s lives,” said Spartz. “Ending Title 42 restrictions without proper replacement mechanisms is a reckless disregard of his duties and the rule of law.”

An Amicus Curiae (Brief) is usually filed by an individual or organization who is not a party to a legal case, but who is permitted to offer expertise and/or insight that has bearing on the issue at hand. The decision on whether to consider such an amicus brief lies within the discretion of the court(s) in said jurisdiction.
