John Allen Farmer, Jr.

April 6, 1947 – May 8, 2022

John Allen Farmer, Jr., 75, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on April 6, 1947 to Johnny Allen and Leah Frances (Burns) Farmer in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Mr. Farmer was a 1965 graduate of Anderson High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force at Vandenberg AFB in California, serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. For 42 years, he was an auto mechanic for Chrysler-Plymouth Dodge. Mr. Farmer was a race car enthusiast who also served as crew chief for several teams. Most of all, he loved his grandchildren.

Survivors include his two daughters Rebecca (Todd) Hollowell and April (Brian) Finch; five grandchildren Hunter and Hayden Hollowell and Haylea, Hannah & Hogan Finch; and two sisters Joyce Grant and Susan Johnson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Betty Ann Stricklin Farmer; and brother William “Butch” Buell.

Graveside services are scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville for all who wish to attend.
