Lonnie Lee Compton

September 5, 1948 – May 21, 2022

Lonnie Lee Compton, 73, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville.

He was born on September 5, 1948 to the late Garland and Lela (Godby) Compton in Noblesville, Indiana.

Mr. Compton proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving 2 tours in Vietnam in the Big Red 1, 101st Airborne. He was awarded several Purple Hearts. He worked in Acquisitions at Fort Benjamin Harrison. Mr. Compton was an avid motorcycle rider and Abate instructor. He enjoyed fishing and camping, and was known for his “Lonnie-style” campfires.

Survivors include his companion Becky Singleton and her family; two brothers Chuck (Pat) Compton and Mark Compton; as well as his niece and two nephews, Jason, Kenneth and Candace.

Visitation is scheduled to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. The Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Inurnment will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
