Donald “Don” Waymire
April 8, 1934 – June 15, 2022
Donald “Don” Waymire, 88, of Noblesville, passed away peacefully and went to his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022.
He was born on April 8, 1934 to the late Scott and Edith (Cooper) Waymire in Frankton, Indiana.
Mr. Waymire was a 1952 graduate of Frankton High School and a two-year Army veteran, serving in Germany with the 557th Field Artillery Missile Battalion. During his service in Germany, he was chosen as Major Denman’s personal driver, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Mr. Waymire attended Fort Wayne Business College and Ohio State University. He worked most of his time in the Health Care field working 18 years for Saint John’s Medical Center in Anderson, and 13 years for Community Health Network Indianapolis. Mr. Waymire was instrumental in many cost-saving projects and retired in April 1999. In his retirement, he volunteered at the Heart Hospital of Community Health Network.
He loved all sports and enjoyed golf, basketball, the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR. He was a member of White River Christian Church. Mr. Waymire enjoyed his grandkids and working in the yard with his lovely wife, Carolyn. They liked to travel and enjoyed the beautiful sights of God’s creation.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years Carolyn Toenjes Waymire; son Todd Waymire of Indianapolis; daughter Heather (Joby) Barnhart of Los Angeles, CA; step-children Debbie (Dr. Larry) Monn, Rick (Lynn) Roeder and Becky (Greg) McLear, all of Indianapolis; sister Sandra Crespo; nephew Christian Crespo of Santa Paula, CA; two grandchildren Kaitlyn Barnhart and Joseph Barnhart; four step-grandchildren Jason (Chanda) Roeder, Nathan Roeder, Katie McLear and Meagan McLear; and triplet great-grandsons Neel, Noah and Liam Roeder.
Visitation is scheduled to be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a memorial service scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville.
