Silvin Maginn

March 29, 1937 – September 12, 2022

Silvin Maginn, 85, of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022.

He was born on March 29, 1937 to Jerome and Mary (Litzelman) Maginn in Newton, Illinois.

Mr. Maginn proudly served his country in the United States Army. He received an associate’s degree from IUPUI and worked as a draftsman for RCA for 38 years.

He was very strong in his faith and was a member of Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church. He was a big Notre Dame fan and enjoyed playing cards. Mr. Maginn loved being athletic, liked biking and walking, and was an avid golfer. Most of all, he loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years Jo Maginn; son Bruce (Karen) Maginn; daughter Liz (fiancé Scott Jones) King; three siblings Evelyn Parisot, Joe (Mary Lu) Maginn and Rose Wetzel; five grandchildren Tyler King, Erica (Matt) Maginn-Doss, Abby (fiancé Dušan Ćurčić) King, Jessica Maginn and Isabella Maginn; and three great-grandchildren Christian Doss, Teagan Doss and Parker Doss.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five siblings Anita Busald, Harry Maginn, Ruth Fear, Mary Weber and Don Maginn; infant sister Marilyn Maginn; and sister-in-law Marilyn Maginn.

Visitation is scheduled to be held from 1:30-2:30 p.m., with services scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m., on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist Catholic Church, 10350 Glaser Way, in Fishers. The Rev. Dale Ehrman will officiate. Entombment with military honors will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
