E&C Makes Progress to Prevent Medicare Overbilling

This week, the House Committee on Energy & Commerce marked up 19 bills, including the PATIENTS Act, which requires Medicare providers to standardize fees for 300+ codes and separate ID numbers for off-campus locations, as well as making an important step forward to implement site-neutrality for pharmaceuticals administered in off-campus locations.

Judiciary Committee Takes on Administrative State

Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution gives Congress the ability to make all laws. Unfortunately, Congress has subrogated its Constitutional duty.

House Enacts Measures to Curb Drug Trade

H.R. 467 – The HALT Fentanyl Act PASSED (289-183).

This legislation makes permanent the scheduling order for fentanyl-related substances and gives law enforcement the tools they need to keep Americans safe.

H.R. 1076 – Preventing the Financing of Illegal Synthetic Drugs Act PASSED (402-2). This legislation mandates a federal study on the illicit financing associated with synthetic drug trafficking like fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Spartz Demands Long-Term Fiscal Plan

On Friday, Rep. Spartz sent a letter to President Biden and Congressional Leadership highlighting the warnings of the “unsustainable long-term fiscal path” by the Government Accountability Office, federal auditor, and requesting a fiscal plan.

– Rep. Victoria Spartz represents the Indiana 5th District, comprised of the north side of Indianapolis, Marion, Carmel, Anderson, Noblesville, Fishers and parts of Kokomo. She is the first Ukrainian-born person ever elected to Congress.
