What do moms want for Mother’s Day?

I talked to eight moms who were found Thursday at various locations around the Hamilton County Courthouse Square in Noblesville.

I asked each mom to share more about their kids and what she wanted for Mother’s Day, which is coming up this Sunday.

Here is what they said:

Name: Erren West of Noblesville.

Where found: 3 Rusty Nails Shoppe in downtown Noblesville, where she is owner and was found waiting on customers.

Kids: Two, a nurse in the U.S. Army stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and a daughter in Fort Wayne and “expecting our first grandchild.”

Wants for Mother’s Day: “To be able to see my kids. That’s really what I want … All I want is time with my kids and time with my own mother.” Gift ideas from her store: Mid-Century modern and vintage-retro furniture and items.

Name: Debby Rogers of Noblesville.

Where found: Vintage Adventures in downtown Noblesville, where she was working. “My daughter and my son-in-law run this business together.” They sell “handmade, wooden wall art … All of the wall art is designed by my daughter.”

Kids: Three, oldest daughter, who designs the art and works the Vintage Adventures business with her mom, is a part-time nurse; middle daughter is a nurse at Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, and her son is a manager of an information technology company.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “I just want to see my kids. That’s all. I have 12 grandkids … We have a dinner planned and a movie.” Gift ideas from her store: handmade, wooden wall art.

Name: Rori Anderson of Noblesville.

Where found: Linden Tree Gifts in downtown Noblesville, where she is owner and was found waiting on customers. (The store will move June 16 to Lofts on Tenth mixed-use development.)

Kids: Three, a daughter in Wisconsin, a daughter in Zionsville and a son in Westfield, and six grandchildren.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “I like something unique that my kids have spent some time thinking about.” Gift ideas from her store: “Jewelry … or a fun little shirt, plants or flowers, and we have the ‘Happy Everything” cube.

Name: Karen Sutton of Carmel.

Where found: Sitting outdoors on a bench on Logan Street in downtown Noblesville, the crime scene investigator at Carmel Police Department was waiting to meet a friend for lunch.

Kids: One 15-month-old daughter, Mabel.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “I just want to spend Mother’s Day with my daughter and my husband. We came to parenthood late in life, due to infertility, and we had a surprise adoption. So every Mother’s Day is exceptionally special.”

Name: Madison Durham of Noblesville.

Where found: Walking around the Courthouse Square, pushing a stroller with her child riding in it.

Kids: 5-year-old, Riley; and a 3-month-old, Mateo.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “Spend it with my kids, and flowers.”

Name: Kathy Moorhous of Arcadia.

Where found: Having lunch with coworkers at Alexander’s on the Square in downtown Noblesville. She is chief deputy in the Clerk’s Office at the Hamilton County Government and Judicial Center in Noblesville.

Kids: Erin, 30, and Kelly, 28.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “I would enjoy spending time with my family.”

Name: Nichole Gossman of Hamilton County

Where found: Having lunch with coworkers at Alexander’s on the Square in downtown Noblesville. She is a bailiff for Hamilton County Superior Court I at the Government & Judicial Center.

Kids: One, a 16-month-old son, Baker.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “I do think a break would be nice, but just spending time with him (Baker) and family, my husband, and we’ve been talking about going to Conner Prairie.”

Name: Tracy Lishamer of Noblesville.

Where found: Logan Village Mall in downtown Noblesville, where she is manager and was found waiting on customers

Kids: Three daughters, all local. Her oldest works for a grocery chain, her middle daughter is a waitress and her youngest works with autistic children.

Wants for Mother’s Day: “I won’t be seeing my girls this Mother’s Day. We celebrated earlier. But I’ll be spending Mother’s Day with my mom and my sister, who are also in Noblesville.” Gift ideas: “We have a lot of gift items, candles, live plants, and jewelry. We have a lot of things that appeal to moms.”
