Anderson Museum of Art Call for Artists

The Anderson Museum of Art is seeking submissions for its annual Figures of Speech exhibition. For the 14th consecutive year, AMOA is hosting this exhibition, which utilizes all the classic “Figures of Speech” to develop works of art.

Call for Artists: Figures of Speech

Digital Entries Due: Monday, June 30, 2025; Opening Reception: First Friday, August 1, 2025. 6–8 pm, Exhibition Dates: August 1 – September 10, 2025

Figures of Speech is open to all artists, 18 years or older, in the Midwest (IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, ND, NE, OH, SD, & WI). This exhibit is focused on utilizing all the classic “Figures of Speech” to develop works of art. Examples include “Birds of a Feather Flock Together” or “When Pigs Fly.” The following media are accepted: works on paper, paintings, contemporary conceptual photography, mixed media, and sculpture.
