| In recent years, communities across Indiana have been working to bring more housing options to the state. This year, I supported a bill that builds on previous efforts to construct new housing developments in Indiana. House Enrolled Act 1005 will: Bolster the Residential Housing Infrastructure Assistance Program (RIF), a revolving loan fund that helps local governments work on infrastructure projects that support housing projects; Give participants in the RIF program priority if they also support affordable, pro-housing policies; and Streamline the permitting process by allowing qualified third-party inspectors to perform plan reviews or inspections. |
