NHS Sets Community Event to Explore Expansion
The community is invited to explore the new Noblesville High School expansion at a grand opening event on Aug. 7, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Dedication remarks and a ribbon cutting will take place at 4:45 and attendees will be invited to tour over 100,000 square feet of new and renovated space that will significantly enhance student opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) and performing arts.
The expansion includes:
- Twenty new classrooms including space for engineering, biomedical, nursing, emergency medical technician training, and traditional academic courses
- Construction and welding labs
- Hands-on STEM makerspace
- A second student café
- Renovated large group instruction room to provide flexible meeting space
- Updated journalism studio
- Expanded jazz space
- New percussion and piano lab areas
- Expanded choir facilities, storage, and sound proofing
Attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new areas, including the physical education expansion that opened last year. They will also hear from teachers and school leaders about the spaces and programming.
The school system reports that the project came in under the $42 million budget, which was funded through a bond, with no use of referendum or classroom dollars and no increase to the tax rate.
