NFD Had Busy Thursday
Thursday was a busy day for the Noblesville Fire Department. Early in the afternoon the department would be dealing with an explosion, but about an hour before that, they weredispatched to the 6000 block of Rushing River Road following reports of smoke and flames coming from a residence.
Alert neighbors spotted the fire and quickly called 911. NFD units arrived within minutes and were able to make entry into the home to locate the source of the fire. A water supply was initially established using a hydrant across the street; however, that hydrant failed. Fire crews quickly identified and secured a second hydrant approximately one block away, ensuring uninterrupted suppression efforts.
The fire was brought under control shortly afterward. The residence was not occupied at the time, there were no injuries to civilians, firefighters, or pets. NFD was assisted by the Noblesville Police Department, Westfield Fire Department, and the Hamilton County Emergency Management Agency.
NFD would like to take this opportunity to remind residents that working smoke detectors save lives. If you need assistance changing batteries or installing new smoke detectors, the Noblesville Fire Department is here to help.
