New Boutique Open at Carmel City Center

Shoppers can now enjoy Carmel’s newest luxury fashion destination, VERVE, a premier women’s boutique founded by Kristie Smith. VERVE celebrated its opening in August at Carmel City Center.

Slated for a full grand opening later this summer, VERVE is now welcoming guests into its beautifully designed space for an unprecedented shopping experience with its carefully curated collections. Offering a mix of timeless elegance and modern sophistication, VERVE promises to be a haven for women who appreciate elevated fashion and effortless style.

Located in the new Wren Building, just steps from the Hotel Carmichael, VERVE features a selection of coveted designers including Paige Denim, ALC, Milly, Ramy Brook, Rails, Simkhai, Kerri Rosenthal, Cinq A Sept, LoveShackFancy, Mother Denim, and more. Shoppers will also discover exclusive collections from Alice + Olivia, Dorothee Schumacher, L’Agence, Arma, arch4, Allude, Nanushka, Self-Portrait, Brochu Walker and Simon Miller —adding a unique edge to Carmel’s retail scene.

The boutique takes its name and inspiration from jazz icon Ella Fitzgerald and the legendary Verve Records label founded in 1956 to showcase her extraordinary talent.

“VERVE is the perfect name for our store,” said owner Kristie Smith. “It captures the essence of elegance, uniqueness, and creativity—the same qualities that defined Ella Fitzgerald and Verve Records. The French word’s primary meaning is high-energy. We’re here to channel that iconic energy into something fresh and unforgettable for Carmel.”

Inside, VERVE reflects that same creative spirit—pairing plush textures, soft lighting, and feminine finishes with Kristie’s signature pink. The space was designed to feel like a chic, celebrity-style closet, blending high fashion with a welcoming vibe.

With convenient access from the plaza and via a rear entrance from Hotel Carmichael, along with ample plaza-level parking and the nearby Veterans Way garage, VERVE is perfectly positioned to serve both local shoppers and visiting hotel guests.

“With VERVE opening at Carmel City Center, we’re not just starting a boutique—we’re creating a beautiful space where women can find styles and brands that make them feel confident and unique,” said Smith. “It’s all about discovering pieces that inspire and feel good to wear.”

In addition to the boutique space, Smith’s primary business, real estate brokerage Indy Homes, is adjacent to VERVE and the entire 2800 sq.ft. space opens up to create entertaining space for 50+ guests.  Combined, there is a lounge, full kitchen space, conference table, A/V system with 10 speakers and microphone. Smith says, “The space is wonderful for private shopping parties, runway shows, corporate events, private chefs, wine tasting and more.” 

VERVE is now open seven days a week. Carmel City Center is located at the southwest corner of City Center Drive and Rangeline Road. Parking is available along the street and surface parking is available on plaza level (accessible from City Center Drive) and in the underground garage (accessible from Range Line Road as well as City Center Drive) and in the Veterans Way garage.
