Got unused prescription medication you need to get rid of?
On Saturday, Meijer pharmacy in Noblesville will join other Meijer pharmacies across Indiana to help you properly dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medications.
Saturday marks the second of two annual National Drug Take Back Days. Meijer pharmacies are prepared to properly dispose of unused, unwanted and expired medications. During 2025’s first Drug Take Back Day in April, Meijer disposed of nearly 97,000 pounds or 48 tons of medication across its six-state footprint. In Indiana alone, Hoosiers returned 7.3 tons of medicine last spring.
While National Drug Take Back Day is a great bi-annual reminder to clean out cabinets, every day can be drug take back day at Meijer. Designated kiosks are open during regular Meijer pharmacy hours so customers can conveniently dispose of over-the-counter and prescription medications, including controlled substances, year-round. Customers can drop off medications without any questions, but assistance is readily available if needed.
Since joining the program in 2019, the Midwest retailer has collected more than 258 tons of medication in total, with 37.7 tonsfrom Indiana, specifically.
