Heights FFA Members Earn Top Honors

Over Fall Break, members of Hamilton Heights FFA junior and senior teams traveled to state and national competitions to showcase their skills, knowledge, and leadership in agriculture. Representing Heights with pride and professionalism, these students competed in a range of events that tested their expertise, teamwork, and commitment to excellence—and they delivered outstanding results. Congratulations on a job well done!

State Livestock Skillathon

Hamilton Heights FFA1 team consisting of Laren Happel, Quentin Derrer, Kaden Derrer, and Maddie Shively qualified to compete at Nationals by placing 1st Overall. Individually, Lauren Happel earned 1st Overall, Quentin Derrer earned 2nd  Overall, and Kaden Derrer earned 13th Overall. Hamilton Heights 4H 1 Team consisting of Cooper Rollins, Joani Swinford, Annie Sheller, and Emery Brown placed 8th Overall with Cooper Rollins placing 11th individually. Also in attendance. Hamilton Heights FFA 2 Team of Brooklyn McMillen, Hallie Sheller, and Davie Sheller did not place.  Hamilton Heights Jr. Team consisting of Leah Happel, Leila Street, Landree Street, and Faith Lehman placed 10th Overall.

National Judging

Hamilton Heights FFA represented Indiana FFA at the American Royal in Kansas City, Missouri. Team members include Cooper Rollins, Lauren Happel, Quentin Derrer, Kaden Derrer, and Caden Hine. They earned the 4th Overall Team. Individual results included Cooper Rollins (9th Overall/4th Cattle), Lauren (3rd Cattle/8th Reasons), and Kaden Derrer (7th Swine).

State Soils Judging

Hamilton Heights FFA members shined at the State Soils Judging event held in Huntington, Indiana. The Senior Team of Annie Sheller, Jackson Fite, Hallie Sheller, and Kaylee Smith placed 7th Overall. Annie Sheller earned 17th individually. The FFA Junior Team of Abby Sheller, Davie Sheller, Colton Hoane and Zoe Kincaid placed 5th Overall. Individually Abby Sheller placed 6th and Davie Sheller placed 23rd.
