Noblesville Creates’ Comic Book in a Day 2026 Back
Noblesville Creates, in partnership with the Hamilton East Public Library, invites creators, fans, and collectors to experience the thrill of live comic creation during the 13th Annual Comic Book in a Day Challenge, taking place Jan. 16–17. Sponsored by Moonshot Games and Citizens State Bank, this signature event brings together creativity, community, and professional mentorship for a high-energy celebration of comics and storytelling.
With both virtual and in-person competitions, Comic Book in a Day welcomes artists of all ages and experience levels to imagine, create, and publish original comics—often in just a single day. What begins as a creative challenge becomes a shared achievement, with participants joining a growing legacy of published creators.
Create. Learn. Compete.
Participants in the in-person challenge will compete in one of two divisions:
- Youth Division (ages 12 and under): 4-hour competition
- Teen & Adult Division (ages 13+): 7-hour competition
Guided by accomplished comic professionals Erik Lundorf and Victor Dandridge, creators will receive hands-on instruction, real-time feedback, and encouragement throughout the day. Featured Artists and Judges Stuart Sayger, Gavin Smith, and Jackie Crofts will be on site engaging with participants, demonstrating techniques, reviewing submissions, and sharing insights from their professional careers.
All completed comics—from both the virtual and in-person competitions—will be professionally scanned and published in a printed Comic Book in a Day Anthology, with every registered contestant receiving a copy.
Free Pre-Event Workshops (Space is Limited)
Ahead of the competition, Noblesville Creates is offering three free, public workshops led by professional comic artists. These sessions are open to all and do not require participation in the competition, though advance registration is strongly encouraged due to limited space. The first session, held on January 8, featured tips and tricks for starting a comic from instructor Erik Lundorf. The remaining workshops are:
