Sheridan Schools Sets State of Finances Meeting

Sheridan Community Schools is always grateful for the tremendous support from its community. A core value of SCS is their community-centered mindset, which is supported by the families, local organizations, and, of course, the community members who make an impact on the direction and path of the lives of the students, staff, and programs at SCS. 

                Later this month, SCS will be hosting a State of Finance Public Meeting. This meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 18, from 6:00-7:15 p.m. in the SHS Auditorium. Any community member is invited to attend and hear district leaders share an overview of the current financial outlook for SCS. Leaders will specifically focus on the impact of Senate Bill 1, a property tax reform bill, and the challenges the district will face in the months and years ahead. 

                Superintendent Dr. Dave Mundy noted, “As we move towards the future of SCS, we have some definite hurdles we are going to have to evaluate and overcome. We always appreciate the input and thoughts of our community as we assess all our options moving forward.  We are fortunate to have such a supportive community.”  

The meeting itself is designed to be informative and collaborative. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about where the district stands financially. Because SCS values community, that voice is essential as the district moves forward towards thoughtful and informed decisions that support students and ensure the continued bright future of the school system.
