Ronald James Smith

Ronald James Smith, 84, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

He was born on Feb. 3, 1938 in Gary, Ind. to James and Alice Smith.

Mr. Smith grew up as an only child and attended a Catholic boarding high school. He proudly served 4 years in the US Navy and was a career Navy civilian employee for over 35 years at Naval Avionics in Indianapolis. He had a passion for traveling. Mr. Smith had a passion for water and loved oceans and the Great Lakes. He also enjoyed hunting and took great pride in passing his enthusiasm on to younger generations.

Survivors include his 2 sons Roderick (Holly) Smith and Ryan (Amanda) Smith; and 5 grandchildren, Kelsie, Cole, Ella, Ava and Mia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Sue Smith.

Private family services will be held at a later date. The Smith family has entrusted Randall & Roberts Funeral Homes with Mr. Smith’s care.
