David E. Riggins

David E. Riggins, 74, Noblesville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville.
He was born on April 18th, 1947 to Earl R. Riggins Jr. and Louise (Eager) Riggins in Peoria, Ill.
Mr. Riggins began his retail career at Venture Stores in Peoria, Ill. He then gave 23 years of his life to Target Stores, medically retiring in 1997 from his Regional Merchandise position.
While serving on the IN Special Olympics Board of Directors, he was instrumental in developing a relationship with Target Stores and the annual Save Arnold Barbeque at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, benefitting IN Special Olympics. His son Chad, who proceeded him in death, presented the first monetary contribution from Target Stores to Mary Holman at the 11th annual event.
He was an active hockey dad with both of his sons, serving many roles with the Indianapolis Youth Hockey Organization (IYHA), Indy Wings Travel Team, and Brebeuf High School Hockey. He enjoyed observing his sons play in the BUNS adult hockey league at the Forum at Fishers Ice Arena. However, many of his most talked about memories were of the Canadian fishing trips with hockey dads and sons.
Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Riggins Wente (Kevin); and his son Brad Riggins (Jessica Frayer).
His sister Carole (Riggins) Diemer proceeded him in death as well as both parents.
Graveside services is scheduled at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2022 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Ind., where he will be laid to rest by his son.
