The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred last week in Sheridan.
The crash occurred at E. First Street and S. Georgia Street. The Sheridan Police Department was investigating a stolen vehicle, but the suspect took off. That led to a pursuit. Sheridan Police briefly lost sight of the vehicle. When they caught up, it had crashed in Veteran’s Park, north of the intersection of E. First and S. Georgia on the north side of Sheridan.
Sheridan Officers immediately called for Sheridan Fire and rendered aid to the driver. The driver of the vehicle died due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Crash Team is leading the fatal crash investigation at the request of the Sheridan Police Department. Next of kin of the deceased has been notified.
