White River Clean Up Sunday

Want to make a positive difference in the community? Then consider coming out Sunday for the White River Clean Up.

The event, put on by the county, has two different sites participants will be working in.  The Noblesville Clean Up location is at the White River Canoe Company, 17180 River Road. And the Carmel location is at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road in Fishers. The canoe run for Carmel is from the canoe company to Conner Prairie. And the Noblesville crew will go from Rusty Oar to White River Canoe Company.

A $15 deposit per registrant is required. The deposit will be refunded with confirmed attendance at the event.  Please know that volunteers MUST pre-register and sign a waiver. Registration will reserve a canoe (no personal canoes or kayaks or walking will be allowed).

As for participants, this is for anyone willing and able to paddle a canoe for a few hours and pick up trash. You do not have to be a resident of Noblesville or Carmel. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and you can expect to not just get wet, but get muddy and dirty. Also, please be sure to bring sunscreen and observe all water safety rules.

Life jackets, paddles, canoes, gloves and trash bags – along with a free event T-shirt will be provided while supplies last.

Everything will move forward, rain or shine. If there is severe weather, organizers will follow the White River Canoe Company’s weather policy.

The White River provides so much to Hamilton County. Sunday is the opportunity to give back.
