OKLAHOMA CITY – Every sailor’s story of naval service is unique. For Petty Officer 3rd Class Lucas Hunt, this story began in Lapel, Indiana, where skills and values learned there would be foundational to success in the Navy.
“My parents and coaches taught me growing up to work hard and to give 100% in everything I do,” Hunt said. “In the Navy, if you get complacent, people can get injured or die. So, you need to work hard and give your 100% every day.”
Hunt graduated from Lapel High School in 2018.
Hunt joined the Navy a year and a half ago.
“I joined the Navy for more opportunities, to travel and to serve my country,” Hunt said.
