Local Students Shine on College Campuses Everywhere
A host of local students have achieved various honors at their colleges. The Times is proud to recognize these wonderful achievements.
Abilene Christian University
Harrison Thrift of Carmel has been named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s Honor Roll at Abilene Christian University. Thrift is a sophomore majoring in Finance.
To qualify for the Dean’s Honor Roll, students must be registered for 12 or more credit hours and earn a GPA of 3.6 or higher.
Alabama
Ten University of Alabama students, including Jacob Bailey of Carmel, were selected for the 2026 class of Capitol Scholars.
The curated experience is designed for students to increase their understanding of governmental affairs and develop leadership skills. They will learn the art of policy research and advocacy and participate in high-impact professional experiences. The student will have networking opportunities with policy experts, governmental officials and UA System alumni.
Also, the 19th annual James P. Hayes, Jr. Moral Forum Tournament culminated recently with the tournament judges awarding multiple scholarships, including one to Sidney Isaac of Fishers.
Albany
The University at Albany is welcoming Ben Earl of Noblesville, who is majoring in Information Science (PhD), among some 5,482 new Great Danes to enroll this semester.
Albion College
Noblesville student Elaina Hendrix was selected as a member of Albion College’s 2025 volleyball team. For her second season with the Britons, Hendrix will play as an outside hitter.
“We’re definitely looking forward to the year,” said Kristin Slamer de St. Aubin ’07, who has led the volleyball program since 2012. “Our competition is some of the best teams in the country, but I’m looking forward to a championship season.”
Hendrix is a sophomore at Albion College. Hendrix is the daughter of Crystal and Shawn Hendrix of Noblesville and is a graduate of Noblesville High School.
Baldwin Wallace University
Fabiany Villasmil of Carmel was among over 500 first-year students welcomed to the Baldwin Wallace University campusthis fall who earned more than $9.4 million in merit scholarships. Villasmil, a graduate of Carmel High School, majoring in theatre acting and directing and psychology, earned an $18,000 Deans’ Scholarship based on outstanding academic achievements in high school. In addition, Villasmil earned the Eileen Stevens Scholarship.
Greyson Johnson of Fishers, a graduate of Hamilton Southeastern High School, majoring in sport management and Spanish, earned the Edward & Diane White Explorations Scholarship.
In addition, two local students have been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester at Baldwin Wallace. The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a grade point average of 3.8 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more graded hours during the semester. They are Clare Alic of Carmel, a graduate of St. Theodore Guerin High School majoring in psychology and Audrey Hockins of Carmel, a graduate of Carmel High School majoring in arts management and entrepreneurship.
Bob Jones University
The following students are among over 620 Bob Jones University students named to the President’s List for high academic achievement during the Fall 2025 semester.
To qualify for the President’s List, students must earn a 3.75 or higher grade point average for the semester.
Conner Barfield, a Senior Business Administration major from Noblesville, was named to the President’s List
Emma Reasen, a Senior Nursing major from Carmel, was named to the President’s List
Megan Wiley, a Senior Nursing major from Carmel, was named to the President’s List
In addition, the following students were named to the Dean’s List. The Dean’s List recognizes students who earn a 3.00-3.74 grade point average during the semester.
Sophia Klink, a Freshman Special Education major from Indianapolis, was named to the Dean’s List.
Alana Muxlow, a Junior Biology major from Noblesville, was named to the Dean’s List.
Ava Reasen, a Sophomore Interdisciplinary Studies major from Carmel, was named to the Dean’s List.
And Conner Barfield, a resident of Noblesville, earned a spot on the Bruins men’s basketball team roster for the 2025-26 academic year. Barfield is a Senior majoring in Business Administration at BJU.
The reigning South Region champion Bruins men’s basketball team begins its season marking the start of a new era under Head Coach Tony Miller.
Carthage
Congratulations to four local students who have been named to the Carthage College Fall 2025 Dean’s List in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement! The four, Jada Propst from Noblesville, Jordan Bopp and Ty Schnepper from Fishers and Sierra Pienkowski from McCordsville achieved a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while carrying at least 12 letter-graded credits in a given semester.
Cedarville University
Students at Cedarville University have been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2025 semester. This recognition requires the student to obtain a 3.50 GPA or higher for the semester and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Locally, those students are: Logan Atkins of Fishers, Corren Brown of Westfield, Justus Dagit of Mccordsville, Ruby Dearing of Fishers, Allyson Hatcher of Fishers, Marco Leombruni of Mccordsville, Sophia Miles of Mccordsville, Isaac Pettersen of Carmel, Sophia Pizarro of Carmel, Ian Rose of Fishers and Ethan Utzig of Carmel.
Champlain College
Kirstie Fay of Noblesville was named to the Champlain College Online Trustees’ List as well as the President’s List for the Fall 2025 semester.
Students on the Trustees’ List have achieved a 4.0 grade point average for two or more consecutive semesters. Fay is majoring in Computer Forensics & Digital Investigations.
Making the Trustees’ List is a tremendous achievement. Many of the high achievers balance their career-focused classes with jobs, internships, clubs, and volunteering.
College of Charleston
College of Charleston congratulates more than 1,900 students named to the Dean’s List for Fall 2025, including local students Caroline Harvey of Westfield majoring in Biology, Hunter Harris of Westfield majoring in Economics, Jenna Smith of Fishers majoring in Accounting, Nicholas Harris of Indianapolis majoring in International Business, Sylvia Banner of Indianapolis majoring in Arts Management, Julia Keadle of Carmel majoring in Arts Management, Kennedy Fagan of Noblesville (undecided) and Kailey Crose of Indianapolis majoring in Marketing.
The following five students earned President’s List honors: Audra Stanley of Indianapolis majoring in Psychology, Harper Moses of Indianapolis majoring in Business Administration, Ethan Howard of Fishers majoring in Psychology, Anna Tridico of Carmel majoring in International Business and Aishlin Sharpe of Noblesville majoring in Psychology.
Citadel
Gold stars were awarded to cadets and students at The Citadel who achieved a 3.7 grade point average or higher in the fall 2025 semester. Cadets and students who achieve gold star recognition are also placed on The Citadel’s dean’s list.
Two of those students were from the Hamilton County area, Jacob Pearlman of Fishers and Aiden Raab of Tipton.
Cumberlands
In recognition of academic performance, the Office of Academic Affairs at University of the Cumberlands has announced that Lanie Nish of Indianapolis has been named to the President’s List for the fall 2025 semester.
To be eligible for the President’s List, students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours (a full course load), maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 4.0 for the semester, receive an “A” grade in UC Engage, and be in good academic standing. Four local students also earned Dean’s List honors. They are: Maximus Bowers of Pendleton, Hallie Davis of Mccordsville, Reece Davis of Pendleton and Jacob Ingle of Noblesville.
Elmhurst
Four local students were among those Elmhurst University students who were named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List. The Dean’s List is composed of students who during the term concerned, attained a grade-point average of 3.75 or higher (out of a possible 4.00). Evansville
Students at the University of Evansville are named to the Dean’s List every fall and spring semester. To merit the honor of being placed on the Dean’s List, a student must have carried a full academic load of 12 hours or more and have earned a grade point average of 3.5 or above. Kayla N. White of Carmel earned a place on Furman University’s dean’s list for the 2025 fall semester. Furman’s dean’s list is composed of full-time undergraduate students who earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher on a four-point system. White’s parents and/or guardians are Nicholas White and Michele White.
Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern University recently recognized approximately 4,400 students on the Fall 2025 Dean’s List, including Mariella Marchione of Fishers.
To be eligible for the Dean’s List, a student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
More than 2,600 students made the Fall 2025 President’s List, including Adetunji Adewoye of Carmel.
To be eligible for the President’s List, a student must have at least a 4.0 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 hours for the semester.
Georgia Tech
Shivani Narahari of Westfield has earned a Master of Science in Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Narahari was among approximately 2,000 undergraduate and graduate students who earned degrees during the Summer 2025 semester.
Indiana University Kokomo
Indiana University Kokomo congratulates the 123 students who earned degrees in August 2025. The graduates represent 29 Indiana counties and six states. Iowa State
More than 11,800 Iowa State University students have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the 2025 fall semester Dean’s List.

Isabelle Woodward, Entrepreneurship, B.S. from Carmel; and Ella Pauline Case, Biology, B.S. (AGLS) from Fishers.
Students named to the Dean’s List must earn a grade point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
Jacksonville State University
Grayson Henley Knight of Westfield has been named to the Dean’s List at Jacksonville State University for outstanding academic performance over the Fall 2025 semester.
To be named to the Dean’s List, students must earn a 3.5-3.99 GPA for the semester while completing at least 12 GPA hours of course credit.
Kalamazoo College
Kalamazoo College congratulates students who earned Dean’s List honors in Fall 2025. Dean’s List recognition is earned with a grade point average of 3.5 or better, including local students Maya Davis of Westfield and Jey Trebley of Fishers.
Kettering University
Ronald Schwanke was named to Kettering University’s Summer 2025 Dean’s List. Schwanke, of Fishers, is majoring in Electrical Engineering.
The Dean’s List recognizes overall academic performance based on the student’s term grade point average (GPA). To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must satisfy the following requirements: be a degree-seeking student with a minimum term grade point average of 3.5, no grades below B, and a minimum of 16 earned credits for the term.
Lakeview College
James Coursen from Noblesville was among the students from Lakeview College of Nursing who made the fall Dean’s List.
Students who are enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at Lakeview College of Nursing and who achieve a GPA of 3.6 or higher on a 4.0 scale are named to the Dean’s List for the semester.
Loras College
Cana A. Duckworth of Carmel was honored for academic achievement during the recent semester by Dr. Sarah Nytroe, Loras College Provost. To be eligible, a student must earn a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 for the term and be a full-time student taking at least 12 graded credits (pass/fail courses are excluded). The Dean’s List is compiled at the completion of each semester.
Maryland Global Campus
More than 11,500 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the Dean’s List for the summer 2025 term. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.
The following local students were named to the Dean’s List: Claire Uglum of Westfield, Brian Phan of Carmel, Matea Skegro and Blake McDonald of Fishers and Oumar Diallo of Indianapolis. McDonald also earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. He was one of 3,800 students worldwide who earned degrees from UMGC in the term.
McKendree University
Congratulations to Samantha Duplaga of Noblesville, who was named to the McKendree University fall 2025 semester Dean’s List for earning a grade point average of 3.60 or higher.

Missouri State
Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean’s list. This semester, that list includes Collin Alber of Carmel and Gavin Henderson of Fishers.

Nichols College
Jacob Ammar of Westfield has achieved Dean’s List honors for the fall 2025 semester at Nichols College.
Dean’s List recognizes those students who achieve high grades during a single semester. To be included on the Dean’s List, a student must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for at least 12 undergraduate credit-hours and must have received no grades below B- during the semester.
Northern Illinois
Northern Illinois University announces its fall 2025 Dean’s List students. To earn this distinction, students must meet a minimum semester grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts.

To qualify for inclusion on the Dean’s List, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.
Nebraska-Lincoln
Lucy Elizabeth Loy of Fishers was among 1,175 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises Dec. 19 and 20 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Loy earned a Master of Professional Accountancy from the Office of Graduate Studies.
Palmer College
Calvin Grenda and James Stamper of Carmel, along with Ashley Glesing of Pendleton, have been named to the 2025 summer trimester Dean’s List at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Main Campus in Davenport, Iowa.
In addition, Julia Pacilio of Carmel has been accepted for enrollment for the fall trimester in the Doctor of Chiropractic degree program at Palmer College of Chiropractic’s Florida Campus in Port Orange, Florida.
PennWest University
Nearly 3,000 undergraduate students at PennWest University have been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2025 semester, recognizing their outstanding academic achievement, including Emma Hiott, a PennWest Edinboro student from Fishers. Hiott is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Roger Williams University
Cara Harvey, of Fishers has been named to the Fall 2025 Dean’s List at Roger Williams University, in Bristol, R.I.
Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a grade point average of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean’s List that semester.
Saint Mary’s College
The following students have been named to the Saint Mary’s College Dean’s List for the Fall 2025 semester.

To earn this academic honor at Saint Mary’s, a student must achieve a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.6 on a 4.0 scale, have a minimum of 12 graded credit hours, no incompletes, and no grades lower than a C.
Samford University
Samford University recognizes students named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester, including five local students Kiersten Schmidt of Carmel, Megan Coffey of Fishers, William Tuckis of Fishers, Aiden Amaya of Westfield and Agnes Moriarty of Indianapolis.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
South Dakota State
More than 4,100 students were recognized for their outstanding academic performance over the fall 2025 semester at South Dakota State University by being named to the dean’s list, including local students Treyson Buchanan of Carmel, a student in SDSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences and Sarah Gould of Carmel, a student in SDSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences.
To earn dean’s list distinctions in SDSU’s colleges, students must have completed a minimum of 12 credits and must have earned at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Overall, 4,147 students from 40 states and 31 foreign nations are on the list. Congratulations to these distinguished scholars on earning this academic achievement.
Southern Indiana
In recognition of outstanding academic achievement, the University of Southern Indiana Dean’s List has been released for the 2025 Fall Semester. Dr. Shelly Blunt, USI Provost, announced 2,159 undergraduate students were named to the Dean’s List.
Undergraduate students must achieve a 3.5 or better semester GPA (on a 4.0 system) to be named to the list. Students earning no incomplete (IN) or missing (Z) grades for the term and earning letter grades of computable point value (Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory and Pass/No Pass graded courses do not apply) in 12 or more semester hours, with a semester GPA between 3.5 and 4.0, are named to the list.

Southeast Missouri State University proudly welcomes Luke Almodovar to his first semester as a Redhawk – a semester that saw the Noblesville student earn President’s List honors. Southern New Hampshire University

Students Emmett Worman, a freshman civil engineering major from Noblesville, and Eryn Pikus, a junior mechanical engineering major from Carmel, joined the group to perform at Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne. Worman placed second bassoon, second chair in Intercollegiate Band. He performs with the Trine University Chamber Orchestra as principal bassoon. Pikus placed third horn, second chair in the Intercollegiate Band. She performs with the Trine University Sound of Thunder Marching Band as mellophone section leader and the Trine University Wind Ensemble as principal French horn.
Troy University
Jaysi Klink of Westfield has been named to the Chancellor’s List at Troy University for the Fall Semester/Term 2 of the 2025-2026 academic year.
The Chancellor’s List honors full-time undergraduate students who are registered for at least 12 semester hours and who earn a grade point average of 4.0.

Three hundred eighty-one students have been named to the Union University Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester, including Taryn Lengacher of Noblesville.
The Dean’s List includes full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade point average on a four-point scale.
Utah Tech
Alex Johnson of Noblesville was named to the Dean’s List for Utah Tech University’s fall 2025 semester.
Students at Utah Tech University showcased exceptional academic performance during the fall 2025 semester, with 1,071 students earning Dean’s List honors. To qualify, students had to achieve a GPA of 3.5 to 3.89 and complete at least 15 credits.
In addition, Dason Janda from Fishers was among those honored, earning a spot on the President’s List for the fall 2025 semester.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire
Kristen Friesth, College of Arts and Sciences from Fishers earned a place on the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s Dean’s List.
To be eligible, a student must:
– be in good academic standing.
– have a minimum semester GPA of 3.70.
– have completed at least 12 credits during the semester, with no incompletes, no courses below the 100 level, no repeats, and no Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory registrations (except in degree credit-bearing courses that are offered only on the S/U grading system in which a grade of S has been earned).
Wisconsin-Madison
Just over 1,500 students received doctoral, bachelor’s, master’s, and professional degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August 2025, including Carmel’s Kevin Bursaw who earned a College of Letters and Science, Master of Science-Cartography and Geographic Information Systems, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems. Although the university does not hold a commencement ceremony in August, many graduates participate in the May or December ceremonies.
The school also recognized students named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, including eight from the county. Carmel’s Jaclyn Copeland, College of Letters and Science; Grant Ludwig, School of Business; Dylan Meeks, Col of Agricultural & Life Sci; Charles Miller, College of Letters and Science; Brooke Thoren, College of Letters and Science; and Elyse Wiener, College of Agricultural & Life Science joined Fishers residents Joe Augustine, College of Letters and Science, and Zoey Newell, College of Letters and Science on the list. Students who achieve at a high level academically are recognized by the dean at the close of each semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must complete a minimum of 12 graded degree credits in that semester. Each university school or college sets its own GPA requirements for students to be eligible to receive the distinction.
Wisconsin-Stevens Point
The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point honored more than 2,872 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the fall semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Sarah Winchell of Fishers earned High Honors. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89.
Wisconsin-Whitewater
The following local students are among the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater scholarship recipients receiving financial awards for the 2025-26 academic year.
Ashnaya Gupta of Carmel, who is studying Human Performance, won the following scholarship(s): Roger & Lenoire Fish.
Preston Pekala of Westfield, who is studying Business, won the following scholarship(s): Faculty-Staff Endowment. In addition, Preston is a member of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater football team, which will compete in the NCAA Division III Championship for the 20th time in program history.
In addition, both students were named to the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Dean’s List for the 2025 fall semester. These students have demonstrated their academic abilities by receiving a grade point average of 3.4 or above in a single semester.
Gupta also earned a roster spot on the Warhawk gymnastics team for the 2026 season.
