Ruth Ann Hollingsworth

Mrs. Ruth Ann Hollingsworth, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022, in Lakeland, Florida.
She was born In Lebanon, IN on February 11, 1934, a daughter of the late Charles Glenn Peabody and Mildred R. (Ek) Peabody.
Mrs. Hollingsworth was united in marriage to Jim Hollingsworth on June 12, 1953 at the Old Union Church, rural Jamestown, IN. They celebrated sixty loving years together before his passing on June 21, 2013.
Raised in Boone County, she was a graduate of Pinnell High School, class of 1952. She had performed secretarial duties at various businesses in and around Boone County. She had owned and operated Hollingsworth’s Trading Post in Elizaville, Indiana, was an Avon lady in Boone County for more than ten years and worked at Biddle Screw Products in Sheridan and Indiana Mills and Manufacturing in Westfield before retiring in 1998. Mrs. Hollingsworth and her husband also worked part-time at Myers Mortuary before moving full time to Florida.
She was a devoted wife, mother and grand-mother. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Sheridan and served as Grand Ruth for the Indiana Grand Chapter. The Hollingsworths also enjoyed square dancing and were members of the Happy Hoppers in Boone County. Mrs. Hollingsworth was named Mrs. Personality (Congeniality) in the 1971 Mrs. Boone County Pageant.
Survivors include her three sons Vince (Sharon) of Lebanon, Victor of Lakeland Florida and Vance of Woodland, Texas; five grandchildren Steven Hollingsworth, Tyler Hollingsworth, Alexandra Hollingsworth, Gabrielle Hollingsworth and Caleb Hollingsworth; one great grandchild Kamila Wollak; two sisters-in-law Bee Peabody and Madelyn Peabody, both of Lebanon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren Kristin Wollak and Kreigh Hollingsworth; four brothers John L. Peabody, Harold E. Peabody, David Peabody and Glenn Robert; and a sister, Dorothy Jean Meenach.
Funeral services are planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday May 27 at the funeral home with Eastern Star rites scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Interment will follow services at Old Union Cemetery in Jamestown, Indiana.
