  • 9/22/2018 To Whom It May Concern:
I was disappointed to read the letter from Logansport Mayor Dave Kitchell in the Noblesville Times calling out the City of Noblesville and my leadership for our supposed handling of the situation with the Indiana Transportation Museum in Forest Park.
It’s disappointing on many levels – but let’s just stick to the facts – which Mayor Kitchell seems to be short on. He says, “the city has retained attorneys to figuratively ‘bleed the museum dry’ with the excuse that they are merely paying more for a railyard clean-up at Forest Park.”
Perhaps Mayor Kitchell should ask the ITM board of directors and their Save the Nickel Plate friends to stop filing so many lawsuits – then the city wouldn’t have to retain attorneys on this matter.

  • 9/14/2018 As a Hoosier, I’m proud of the way Noblesville responded to its recent tragic school shooting. The response brought out the best in us, and it is worth noting, Mayor John Ditslear. My admiration and prayers go out to a brave teacher and a student who was truly an innocent victim.
At the same time, I join other Hoosiers concerned that the Noblesville response to the Indiana Transportation Museum has brought out the worst in our legal system. Under the guise of environmental concern, the city has retained attorneys to figuratively “bleed the museum dry” with the excuse that they are merely paying more for a railyard clean-up at Forest Park. Countless other cities, including ours, have several environmental issues, but attempting to bankrupt a nonprofit organization is not the way to go about it.

  • Sectional Week is here, and we're ready
3/1/2016 We are digging out Noblesville Miller gear from our closets. We have signs posted in the cafeterias that read "Go Millers" and "Beat the Greyhounds." Every morning, we are greeted with loud, energy-driven songs booming from the gym while our basketball players practice before classes.

Noblesville Boys Basketball Sectional Week is here.

  • 11/26/2015 An Ohio farm girl's 1895 ride over a mountain is a metaphor for why we're thankful for being Americans. In a letter back home to her parents, Mary tells the story of her trip-from "trial and tribulation" to triumph-tracing out our nation's own exceptional journey.

  • 11/18/2015 Purposely putting a bullet into the body of an innocent human being is pure evil. I cringe whenever I think about Adam Lanza executing 20 children at an elementary school. I feel a similar revulsion when I picture Dzhokhar Tsarnaev placing a bomb directly behind young spectators at the Boston Marathon -and walking away.

  • 1/9/2015 The silent killer. No, not heart disease - Mohammed Sidique Khan. No, not Paris - London. The July 7, 2005, jihadist bombing of a bus and the London underground killed 55 people. It was Britain's 9-11. France just had theirs.

  • Why Government Openness Matters
8/20/2014 One of the fundamental lessons of the 9/11 tragedy was that our government carried a share of blame for the failure to stop the attacks. Not because it was asleep at the switch or ignorant of the dangers that Al Qaeda posed, but because the agencies charged with our safety did not share what they knew, either up and down the chain of command or with each other. The attacks were preventable with shared information.

  • 2/19/2014 Unfortunately, it seems to take opposites to make us remember or appreciate some things.

We take our good health for granted most of the time, until we catch the flu. We, or at least most of us, complain about the summer heat when it is over 90, until we have day after day of below zero. Time, station in life, and perspective have much to do with that.
